We are very grateful for this wonderful studio that my husband built in 2012. Over the last 14 years we have continued to work on it, recently adding a patio cover and stonework for outdoor seating out of the elements. The city calls it just a workshop, because to qualify as a studio it needs to have running water inside. That would be nice, but they would just jack up the taxes on it so we’re happy with the way it is!
It is mostly used as a wood shop throughout the year. Come December it gets a thorough cleaning to remove remaining accumulation of wood dust, even though we have terrific filtration units. This is followed by reorganizing (seems like a forever job!) and turning it into a Christmas venue for family and friends.

My husband carved the Studio sign and we had a custom hanger welded with metal oak leaves. At Christmas it is lit with the the old style lights.

Last year (2025) I changed out the theme to use more traditional colors of red and gold instead of a wintery blue theme we had for years. This new theme uses a red and black buffalo check ribbon throughout, which was a challenge for me to weave throughout the tree and mantel garland. And…I love how it turned out!

The countertop space on the right is my work area when it is not being used for woodworking projects, which lately is all the time!

This is the area above my work space with a few of the nutcrackers and my four art deco prints by American artist JMW Chrzanoska.

And, finally this is my little space cleaned up a bit from a deck building project my husband is almost done with. We have decided that it is time to take a break from all the woodworking projects this year.
